A NICE Night Event & Auction FAQs

Where can I register for A NICE Night 2021?
Visit NICENight2021.givesmart.com to register now for our virtual event and silent auction. Select a sponsorship option or donate, and you will be automatically registered.

How do I become A NICE Night sponsor and what are the benefits?
Visit NICENight2021.givesmart.com and select “Support Childs Elementary” under “Available to Purchase.” There are 6 purchase options from the NICE Night Special to our Family or Neighbor Sponsorships to our higher Bronze, Silver, and Gold Sponsorships. Each Sponsorship level includes a certain number of NICE Night packages that include a dinner package, giftbag, raffle tickets, and sponsor recognition.

Can I participate if I don’t purchase a package?
Yes! Our virtual event is free and open to everyone. Simply select “Register to Participate” at NICENight2021.givesmart.com. If able, we encourage those who register to donate an amount they are able to support The S.T.A.R. Project or bid in our online auction as part of the event.

Will dinner and drinks be provided?
Dinner, which includes one (1) appetizer, one (1) entrée, and one (1) dessert, will be provided by On Point Bistro to those who purchase a NICE Night Special or Sponsorship package. Prior to the event, A NICE Night representative will contact you about dinner pickup on April 17th. Not purchasing a sponsorship? We encourage you to support a local Point Breeze establishment while you enjoy the event.

Do I have to be 21 to attend?
No. Since A NICE Night is a virtual event this year, all are welcome to attend.

What is the dress code?
Completely up to you, join us in your comfiest stay-at-home wear or dress up for an extra special night at home.

How does the online auction work?
Our silent auction will be conduced exclusively online.  To participate, bring your smartphones fully charged to the event!  All bidding can be done via mobile phone without the need for a specific app. We will also have NICE Night volunteers accessible to help with any questions you may have.  Early bidding will also be available the week of April 17th.

How do I sign up and participate in the online auction?
Purchase a sponsorship or donate at nicenight2021.givesmart.com and you will be automatically registered to participate in the online auction.

Alternatively, you can register for the auction by selecting the “register to participate” button at nicenight2021.givesmart.com.  You can also text “NICENight2021” to 76278 and follow the text prompts to quickly register via text/SMS.  You will receive a personalized link to the auction.  You will be required to add a payment method to your account before you can begin bidding. 

  1. Register to Bid
    To expedite check-in at the event, please register with the auction site prior to April 17th at 7pm.  If you purchased a sponsorship or donated via nicenight2021.givesmart.com, you are already registered!  Otherwise, register via the website or text “NICENight2021” to 76278.  There will be volunteers to help with registration at the door.

  2. Begin Bidding
    Once you register, you will receive a personal bidding link to the online auction via text.  Simply start bidding on your favorite items! You can view items by category, or search items directly.  You can also set a maximum bid for any item - the system will bid incrementally up to your maximum bid as long as someone bids against you. 

  3. Check Your Notifications
    You will receive a text if you are outbid.  A banner will also appear across any item you are bidding on that indicates whether you are winning or losing.  So be sure to have your phone fully charged so you can watch your favorite items throughout the night!

  4. Check Out and Collect Your Items
    Auction winners are required to pay and pick up their winnings at guest check-out at the end of the event.  Select the pay button at the top of your screen, review your purchases, and pay using either your card on file or a different credit card.  Once payment is complete, a red paid stamp will appear on your summary. For all auction winners, NICE will contact you to arrange your item pick-up.

    NOTE:  If you win an item but are not present for checkout (e.g. you left early or participated in bidding but could not attend the event), your credit card on file will be charged at 12 a.m. on 4/18/2021. For all auction winners, NICE will contact you to arrange your item pick-up.

I can’t attend A NICE Night on April 17th, but would like to help. What can I do?
You can register and participate in the silent auction even if you cannot attend!  Visit nicenight2021.givesmart.com and select “register to participate” or text “NICENight2021” to 76278.

You can also make a donation to support NICE and The S.T.A.R. Project at nicenight2021.givesmart.com or donate an item to our auction by emailing info@nicephilly.org.  Thank you for your support!
